Description
Wedge‑Press (V‑Press) Connectors (Captive)
-
Function: Integrated into Kwikstage standards, these welded V‑pressings with wedges enable fast, tool‑free assembly of ledgers, transoms, braces, hop‑ups, tie bars, etc.
-
Advantages:
-
Self‑locating, captive system – no loose nuts or bolts
-
Fast and safe erection/disassembly, ideal for unskilled labour.
-
Standards made from Ø 48.3 × 4 mm tubing, V‑presses spaced ~495 mm apart
-
🔗 2. Spigot Connectors and Drop‑Heads
-
Spigot Connectors: Male/female tubes (spigots) that join open-ended standards together and support drop‑heads. Typically flanged with captive spigots.
-
Drop‑Heads: Fit onto spigots and accept infill beams or decking beams; rotate to release beams while standard remains in place.
⚙️ 3. Scaffolding Couplers (DH‑Type)
-
DH Couplers: Fixed steel clamps to attach additional tubes orthogonally (e.g., tie tubes or braces) to standards.
-
Constructed from Q235 steel, hot‑dip galvanized or zinc-plated
-
Compatible with Ø 48.3 mm tubes, meeting EN 74‑1/BS 1139 standards
-
Weight ~1.3 kg each
-
🏗️ 4. Ledger and Transom Connectors
-
Ledgers & Transoms attach via captive wedge‑press connectors:
-
Ledgers (horizontals) sized imperial/metric (e.g., 0.6 – 2.4 m; wall thickness 3.2 mm)
-
Transoms support scaffold boards: plain-ended or back‑to‑back angles for heavier pedestrian loads
-
🔒 5. Swivel & Fixed Tube Couplers
-
Not native to Kwikstage but used to attach scaffold tubes at variable or fixed angles to the system when required:
-
Swivel couplers offer full‑rotation flexibility
-
Fixed (double) couplers hold tubes at set 90° angles
