Description

Aluminium MIG Welding Wire – 5356 Alloy – 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.6mm (7kg Spools)

Product Overview:

5356 aluminium MIG welding wire is a high-strength, magnesium alloyed (Mg ~5%) filler wire, ideal for welding a wide range of aluminum base materials. It offers excellent corrosion resistance, strong mechanical properties, and good weld appearance, making it a popular choice in marine, automotive, structural, and general fabrication industries.

The 5356 alloy is particularly well-suited for welding aluminum grades such as 5083, 5356, 5052, 5005, and 5454, and is preferred where high strength and toughness are required.

Key Features:

  • Excellent Strength and Ductility – Ideal for load-bearing or high-stress aluminum structures

  • Good Corrosion Resistance – Especially in marine and saltwater environments

  • Bright, Clean Weld Bead – Produces aesthetically pleasing results with low spatter

  • High Magnesium Content (~5%) – Enhances mechanical properties and strength

  • Suitable for Welding a Wide Range of 5xxx Series Alloys

  • Supplied in 7kg Layer-Wound Spools – Ensures consistent, tangle-free feeding

Applications:

  • Marine and shipbuilding components

  • Automotive and trailer fabrication

  • Storage tanks and pressure vessels

  • Aluminium pipeline and structural welds

  • Railway and transport vehicles

  • Bicycle frames and aluminium tooling

Compatible Base Materials:

  • 5052, 5083, 5005, 5454, 5356, and similar 5xxx series alloys

  • Some 6xxx series alloys (e.g., 6061) when strength is preferred over anodizing appearance

⚠️ Not recommended for applications requiring post-weld anodizing — may result in color mismatch.
