Description
An FRL integrates three essential functions for pneumatic systems:
-
Filter: Removes water, oil droplets, dirt, and particulates—typically down to 5 µm or 40 µm—ensuring clean air enters the system.
-
Regulator: Maintains a stable downstream pressure (commonly 0.5–10 bar) despite input fluctuations. Regulator settings can be easily adjusted and even locked.
-
Lubricator: Injects a fine oil mist into the air to lubricate internal pneumatic components—especially useful if downstream tools require lubrication.
The correct flow: Filter → Regulator → Lubricator, as fitting the lubricator first can result in the oil being removed by the filter and improper pressure regulation.
