Description
Scaffold Components – Adjustable Base Jack 38mm & 35mm
The Adjustable Scaffold Base Jack is an essential component for compatible steel self-lock scaffolding systems. Designed to provide adjustable support at the bottom of the scaffold tower, the base jack allows the scaffold structure to be levelled and adjusted, particularly when working on uneven surfaces.
Available in 38mm BASEJACK and 35mm BASEJACK-35 options, these adjustable steel base jacks are designed for use with compatible scaffolding systems. The large wing nut allows the jack height to be adjusted by rotating the nut along the threaded bar.
Available Base Jack Options
38mm BASEJACK
The 38mm BASEJACK is an adjustable base jack designed for compatible steel scaffolding systems. It provides a stable adjustable support point at the base of the scaffold and can be used to help level the scaffold structure on suitable surfaces.
Product Code: BASEJACK
Size: 38mm
Material: Steel
Type: Adjustable Scaffold Base Jack
Application: Compatible steel scaffolding systems
The adjustable design allows the scaffold height at the base to be fine-tuned to accommodate variations in the supporting surface.
35mm BASEJACK-35
The BASEJACK-35 is a steel adjustable base jack designed specifically for compatible self-lock scaffold systems. It features a 35mm width, large wing nut and base plate. The height is adjusted by rotating the wing nut up or down the threaded bar.
Product Code: BASEJACK-35
Size: 35mm
Material: Steel
Product Weight: 3.2kg
Dimensions: 560mm (L) × 210mm (W) × 210mm (H)
Type: Adjustable scaffold base jack
Application: Self-lock scaffolding
What’s Included: 1 × Base Jack
Key Features & Benefits
- Adjustable scaffold support for compatible scaffold systems.
- Manufactured from steel.
- Large wing nut for height adjustment.
- Includes a base plate for supporting the scaffold.
- Helps compensate for uneven supporting surfaces.
- Suitable for compatible self-lock scaffold towers.
- Available in 35mm and 38mm options.
- Useful as an additional or replacement scaffold component.
- Suitable for construction, maintenance and industrial access applications.
The 35mm model is specifically described as an adjustable jack that allows scaffolding to be used on uneven terrain and is suitable for interior and exterior access trades including plumbing, maintenance, plastering, painting, electrical work and column erection.
How an Adjustable Scaffold Base Jack Works
The base jack is positioned at the bottom of the compatible scaffold structure. Its threaded adjustment mechanism allows the height to be adjusted by rotating the wing nut.
This adjustment can help compensate for differences in the supporting surface and assist with positioning the scaffold correctly during assembly.
A properly configured base jack is particularly useful where the ground or supporting surface is not perfectly level.
Suitable Applications
Adjustable scaffold base jacks are suitable for compatible scaffolding systems used for:
- Building construction
- General construction work
- Building maintenance
- Painting and plastering
- Plumbing installations
- Electrical work
- Industrial maintenance
- Renovation projects
- Commercial construction
- Elevated access applications
Compatible Self-Lock Scaffold Components
The Base Jack forms part of a complete self-lock scaffolding system and can be used alongside compatible components such as:
- Steel self-lock scaffold frames
- Cross braces
- Tie bars
- Steel decks
- Trapdoor platforms
- Access ladders
- Castors
- Knee braces
- Guard rails
- Toe boards
CASLAD’s steel self-lock scaffold tower configurations list base jacks as optional components across its 1.5m × 1.5m, 2.1m × 2.1m and 3.0m × 3.0m tower systems.
Choosing the Correct Base Jack
It is important to select a base jack that is compatible with the scaffold system being used. Check the diameter/size, connection and scaffold frame requirements before ordering.
BASEJACK → 38mm
BASEJACK-35 → 35mm
If you are replacing an existing base jack, confirm the size of your current scaffold component to ensure compatibility.
Important Safety Information
Base jacks must only be used with compatible scaffolding systems and installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable workplace safety requirements.
The base jack should be positioned on a suitable supporting surface and correctly adjusted as part of the complete scaffold assembly. Do not exceed the manufacturer’s specified capacity or use a base jack as a substitute for other required scaffold components.
The complete scaffold structure should be correctly assembled, braced and inspected by a suitably competent person before use.
